Pengampunan Allah itu luas..He is Oft-Forgiving

Dari Anas ibn Malik r.a: Aku mendengar Rasulullah s.a.w bersabda, "Allah s.w.t berfirman, 'Wahai anak adam, sepanjang engkau memohon kepada Ku dan berharap kepada Ku akan Aku ampuni apa yang telah kamu lakukan, Aku tidak peduli. Wahai anak Adam, jika dosa-dosamu setinggi awan di langit kemudian engkau meminta ampunan kepada Ku akan Aku ampuni. Wahai anak Adam, sesungguhnya jika engkau datang kepadaKu membawa kesalahan sebesar dunia kemudian engkau datang kepada Ku tanpa menyekutukan Aku dengan sesuatu pun, pasti Aku akan datang kepadamu dengan ampunan sebesar itu'." (HR Tirmidzi --- Hadith sahih)

In a hadith (Forty Hadith - #42) ...

On the authority of Anas, who said: I heard the messenger of Allah say: Allah the Almighty has said: "O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great as its." (Related by Al-Tirmithi, who said that it was a good and sound Hadith.)

If someone has offered us a bonus (free meal, wise wage etc), wouldn't it be regretful to just ignore it? Same goes with Allah's forgiveness. We know that Allah is oft-Forgiving, then why wouldn't we ask for His forgiveness and become one of the Al-Falahuun (successful people).

Allah said in the Quran: "Say: "O 'Ibadi (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by commiting evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah, verily, Allah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful" (Az-Zumar: 53)

Katakanlah: "Wahai hamba-hambaKu yang melampaui batas terhadap diri mereka sendiri (yang melakukan dosa)! Janganlah kamu berputus asa dari rahmat Allah. Sesungguhnya Allah mengampuni dosa-dosa semuanya. Sungguh, Dialah yang Maha Pengampun, Maha Penyayang". (39: 53)

So let us ask for His mercy and forgiveness for all the sins we've done, conscious or unconsciously. Do not let your ego comes before Him. Janganlah kita merugikan diri dengan kesombongan dosa-dosa kita. Dia Maha Pengasih, Maha Penyayang dan Maha Pengampun.
